This research explores the integration standards in Technical & Vocational Education & Training (TVET) within Kano State, Nigeria, and its alignment with the sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). TVET primary purpose is to prepare individuals for employment in skilled based occupations. The study examines current pedagogical practices, the adoption of new technologies, and green skills to enhance quality education (SDG 4), economic growth (SDG 8) and climate action (SDG 13). The research employs a quantitative data surveys approach. Survey of TVET students, educators, and industry stakeholders in Kano State was employed using a semi structural questionnaire. The findings highlight a mixed landscape for TVET in Kano State:\u00a0 Alignment with SDGs: While some progress has been made in addressing SDGs, particularly SDG 8 and SDG 13, significant gaps remain in achieving SDG 4 due to outdated curricula, insufficient teacher training, and inadequate infrastructure. The study recommends curriculum modernization to update TVET curricula to align with industry requirement, incorporating green skills and emerging technologies to optimize TVET’s role in achieving sustainable development.<\/span><\/p>

This research significantly contributes to the advancement of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Kano State, Nigeria, by aligning it with emerging standards and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The study highlights the critical gaps in the current TVET system, including outdated curricula, inadequate educator training, and insufficient infrastructure, which hinder its effectiveness in addressing SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).\u00a0 By providing data-driven insights and policy recommendations, this research influences curriculum modernization, capacity building for educators, and strategic investments in infrastructure and green skills training. Its findings serve as a guide for policymakers, educators, and industry stakeholders to enhance the relevance of TVET programs, improve employment outcomes, and contribute to Nigeria\u2019s sustainable economic and environmental future.\u00a0 Ultimately, this study fosters a more inclusive, industry-aligned, and environmentally conscious TVET system, positioning Kano State as a model for sustainable technical education in the region.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Abubakar Ibrahim Muhammad<\/span> is a dynamic, qualified and knowledgeable technical educator who is attuned to the need of his students, with almost 30 years\u2019 experience in education sector. Excellent curriculum interpreter, implementer and very good team working skills. A PhD holder in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia; Working with Federal College of Education (Technical) Bichi from 2008 to Date as a Principal Lecturer. Has attended and presented papers at national and international conferences, workshops and seminars. Likewise, has many publications in local and international reputable journals. Also participating in community and voluntary work. He is a registered member of professional associations. Dr. Muhammad has made significant contributions to the field of TVET, particularly concerning the integration of entrepreneurial competencies into technical college programs.<\/span><\/p>

Muazu Murtala Zahraddeen <\/span>a lecturer at Department of Metalwork Technology, School of Secondary Education (Technical), Federal College of Education (Technical) Bichi, Kano, Nigeria. With vast experience in teaching and learning for almost decades. Zaharaden has a Master of Technology in Metalwork Industrial Technology Education from a prestigious Federal University of Technology Minna, Niger State, Nigeria. He is a certified teacher with Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Likewise, he is a certified ICT expert. His research interest is in TVET with publications in international and local journals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Ahmad Adamu <\/span>is a Lecturer in Department of Metalwork Technology, School of Secondary Education (Technical), Federal College of Education (Technical) Bichi. He has teaching experience for more than 10 years in teaching and learning industry. He holds Master of Technology Education from Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola, Adamawa State Nigeria. He is a registered member of several professional association and has research papers published and presented in various International and National Journals, Seminars, Conferences. Adamu is a certified teacher with Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).<\/span><\/p>

Anas Garba Usman, <\/span>lecturer at Department of Automobile Technology, School of Secondary Education (Technical), Federal College of Education (Technical) Bichi. With over 10 years\u2019 experience in teaching and learning. Usman has a Master of Technology in Automobile Technology Education from Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola, Adamawa State Nigeria.\u00a0 He is a certified teacher with Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). His research interest is in TVET with publications in international and local journals.<\/span><\/p>

Abdurrahman Umar Dikko,<\/span> a lecture from Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Kano State Nigeria, Department of Technology and Vocational Education, Metalwork Section.
