\u00a0\u00a0Global warming and the impacts on humans have attracted global attention. Many continents are under serious threats of heatwaves and wild fires, including other climate related pestilence. <\/span>The authors having understood the role of green entrepreneurship (greening, and green technology) thus promotes it as a viable mitigation measure against global warming and is optimistic that its full development in \u00a0 Nigeria would be a sure path towards achieving sustainable environment That is the reason stakeholders need to expedite actions to develop in the youth\u2019s green entrepreneurship skills. This would serve as both a rescue to cool the warming earth and for economic gains. The youths are looked upon as builders of tomorrow’s society.\u00a0 They are the future generation.\u00a0 They should occupy center stage in development of any society given their youthfulness. Their population in the Nigerian society is so large to be ignored, which is the more reason that they should be skilled, upskilled and motivated to action. The integrated rural development approach of empowerment emphasizes the need for people like the youths at the rural areas to be equipped with knowledge and skills in order to engender sustainable livelihoods. Therefore, through green entrepreneurship it’s envisaged that trained youths could become empowered and self-reliant. And at the same time constitute the needed pathway to rescue the earth from warming. It is hoped that through proliferation of green ventures; sustainable livelihoods should be \u00a0 engendered and naturally everyone should work to reduce their carbon footprint.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Global warming is a global climate- related phenomenon. Its severity is evidence in the reports of extreme temperature increases, wild fires , sea rise, flooding and droughts globally. These discomforting conditions would continue to affect the earth , human survival, plants and animal diversity if strategic approach is <\/span>not <\/span>\u00a0taken. United Nations have made dire call to reverse the trend . This review is motivated and argue that the way forward is through collaborative effort to heed to SDGs 13. The paper argue that\u00a0 in order to position youths both\u00a0 in rural and urban\u00a0 communities in Nigeria and Africa\u00a0 at large for sustainable living , they should be trained in\u00a0 green entrepreneurship . Through skill development, youths can be empowered to be self reliant and build their motivation to\u00a0 achieve\u00a0 sustainable environment through sustainable livelihoods.\u00a0 <\/span>Green entrepreneurship is a potential solution to reduction in greenhouse gases,\u00a0 global warming and its negative\u00a0 impacts on human health, infrastructure and agriculture. Whether as mitigation\u00a0 or adaptation\u00a0 measures,\u00a0 the growing concept of green entrepreneurship has been tested globally and\u00a0 so locally\u00a0 youths need to be skilled and given opportunity to contribute to\u00a0 heal the earth.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

About The Author<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Dr.<\/b> Anakwue A. Laetitia<\/b> is a Lecturer in the Institute of Education, University of Calabar. She holds a ph.D degree in Educational Psychology from University of Calabar, M.Ed degree (Counseling Psychology) University of Ibadan, B.Ed degree (Special Education and Language Arts) University of Ibadan, HND (Social pedagogy) Specialized academy for social pedagogy, Passau, Germany. Her major research interests are in Human development\/learning, Guidance and counseling, Special Education, women studies, child and adolescent development. She has published journal articles and book chapters to her credit. She has attended some workshops and conferences in the specialized areas of Psychology, Childhood Education, Special Education, Research, Guidance and counseling, all of which have helped to enrich her academic perspectives and focus. Apart from being a Lecturer in University of Calabar, she has equally taught at Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools in Germany, Oyo State, Delta State, Imo State and Cross River State. She also has administrative experiences, first as a Headmistress in Nursery\/Primary Schools and Principal of Secondary school in Cross River State.<\/span><\/p>

Dr Delight Omoji Idika<\/b> is a Senior Lecturer from the Department of Educational Foundations who is currently serving on Secondment (as Senior Research Fellow) to coordinate the research needs at the Institute of Education, University of Calabar, Nigeria. She is an innovative Education Researcher and has vested interests in Educational Research (R\/D) & Statistics, Assessment, Measurement & Evaluation. She also teaches Philosophical and Historical Foundations of Education, Economics, Office and Business Management alongside intense supervision, training and mentoring of young researchers at the undergraduate and post graduate student levels. She is an award member of ICERT, member of several other professional associations, and has published extensively in local and international Journals<\/span>
<\/span>and Books to her credit.<\/span><\/p>

Dr Evelyn Ijeoma Orji<\/b>, is a very passionate university lecturer and researcher. Her PhD is in Educational Psychology obtained in 2021. Besides, administrative responsibilities in her institute (Students advisor, examination officer, etc). Her\u00a0 research interest majorly focuses on educational, social and personality psychology; school intervention, which extends to developing socio-emotional skills of students, discipline and students\u2019 rights advocacy. These include; for equitable and inclusive school conditions that favours special needs, poverty alleviation among women and the girl child. Her special interest is in issues of study habits, peace and climate action. In the area of study habits, she assists students to construct memories of their learning through effective use of memory strategies.\u00a0 In terms of peace, she is particular about developing peace building skills in basic learners to become future\u00a0peace advocates\u00a0and ambassadors. In the area of climate action, her drive has been on sensitization and awareness creation on climate change mitigation and adaptation through adoption of greening measures, technologies and sustainable lifestyle. Dr Evelyn I. Orji has attended more than twenty conferences (local, international, and Zoom format). She has forty (40) research papers spread across books, book of proceedings and reputable journals. She is an Interdisciplinary researcher. She has bagged two academic awards; 1. The best graduating postgraduate student of the prestigious University of Calabar, Calabar Nigeria (2021), 2. The Education Excellence Award-2022 of the International Council for Education Research and Training ( Nov. 26,2022).She is a member of the team that won the Telfund NRF 2020 on \u201cDevelopment and Standardization of Test Batteries for Identification of Giftedness in Nigeria, headed by Dr Oluseyi Dada, of the University of Calabar .Dr Evelyn Ijeoma Orji is a\u00a0 member of Nigeria Council of Educational Psychologist (NCEP) and Nigeria chapter of the World Council on Curriculum and Instruction ( WCCIC).
