Abstract<\/span><\/p>\n

This study investigates the impact of integrating principles of physical chemistry on the academic performance of senior secondary school students in chemistry. Utilizing a survey design, the research focuses on specific physical chemistry concepts, teaching strategies, and their influence on student engagement. Mean scores reveal the efficacy of integrating physical chemistry principles, emphasizing the importance of topics such as molecular structure and teaching strategies like problem-solving sessions and real-world applications. The study employs ANOVA to support these findings, indicating significant differences in overall academic performance and student engagement. The results underscore the positive effects of incorporating physical chemistry principles in enhancing students’ comprehension, analytical skills, and critical thinking, ultimately fostering a more dynamic and engaging learning environment. These insights contribute to curriculum development, emphasizing the need for interactive methodologies and practical applications to promote a deeper understanding of chemistry principles among senior secondary school students. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Felicity Uju Onwudinjo, born on May 13, 1978, is a lecturer at Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Anambra State, Nigeria. She earned her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State. Dr. Onwudinjo is a respected member of the Chemical Society of Nigeria, the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria, and the Teachers Registration Council. Beyond her academic career, Dr. Onwudinjo finds fulfillment in her role as a wife and mother, raising two children with her spouse. Her dedication to education and chemistry is evident through her contributions to both academia and professional organizations. Her expertise in physical chemistry enriches her teaching and research endeavors at Nwafor Orizu College of Education.
