Ethical Standards and Publication Malpractice Statement
1. Introduction and Scope
Our ethical guidelines are based on the principles of transparency and best practice in scholarly publishing, and are designed to ensure that the scientific record is accurate, trustworthy, and free from bias. We follow the guidelines and core practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of authors, reviewers, and editors involved in the submission, peer-review, and publication process.
2.Responsibilities of Authors (Read Responsible Authorship and Contributorship in Publishing Model)
By submitting a manuscript to the Journal, the authors confirm adherence to the following
A. Originality and Plagiarism
Originality: Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. If the authors have used the work and/or words of others, this must be appropriately cited or quoted.
Plagiarism: The Journal strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism (including self-plagiarism or text recycling). Submitted manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism using Turnitin similarity detection software.
Prior Publication: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is unacceptable. Material that has been previously published elsewhere, in whole or in part, cannot be submitted.
B. Authorship
Authorship Criteria: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study.
Accountability: All authors have approved the final version of the manuscript and agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work.
Corresponding Author: The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors are included in the author list and have seen and approved the final manuscript.
Acknowledgments: Individuals who contributed to the research but do not qualify for authorship (e.g., funding bodies, technical support) should be acknowledged in the dedicated section.
C. Data Access and Retention
Authors may be asked to provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review, and should be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.
D. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
All sources of financial support/funding for the project must be disclosed.
E. Fundamental Errors in Published Works
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.
3. Responsibilities of Editors and Editorial Board
The Editors of the Journal are responsible for the following:
Fair Play and Impartiality: Editors evaluate manuscripts exclusively on their academic merit (importance, originality, validity, and clarity) without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Editors must not use unpublished information disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research purposes without the express written consent of the authors. Editors should recuse themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships/connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions.
Journal Integrity: Editors shall take reasonably responsive measures when ethical complaints have been presented concerning a submitted manuscript or published paper, following COPE’s guidelines.

4. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and may also assist the author in improving the paper.
Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Reviewers should assist the editors in evaluating the manuscripts.
Promptness: Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that a prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and decline the invitation.
Confidentiality: Reviewers must not show or discuss the manuscript with others except as authorized by the editor.
Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the work.

5. Handling of Misconduct and Retractions
A. Identification of Misconduct
Misconduct includes, but is not limited to: plagiarism, fabrication, falsification of data, improper authorship, and undisclosed conflicts of interest.
The Journal will follow the COPE flowcharts for handling cases of suspected misconduct.
B. Actions
When the Journal is made aware of any allegation of research misconduct or unethical publication practice, we will investigate the matter.
If the original investigation indicates that misconduct has occurred, we will take appropriate action, which may include, but is not limited to:
Informing the author’s institution(s).
Retraction of the article (for severe misconduct like plagiarism or data fabrication).
Issuance of an Expression of Concern or Correction.
A formal notice on the journal website.
A ban on future submissions from the authors.
C. Retraction and Correction Policy
The Journal’s policy on retractions, corrections, and expressions of concern adheres strictly to COPE guidelines.
Retraction: Articles are retracted if there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, due to misconduct (e.g., data fabrication) or honest error. The notice of retraction will be clearly linked to the retracted article.
Correction/Erratum: Corrections are issued to correct minor errors that do not affect the scientific integrity of the article (e.g., misspellings, factual inaccuracies).
6. Intellectual Property and Open Access
Copyright: The Journal adheres to a specific Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International Public License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) as stated on the Journal’s Open Access and Copyright page. Authors retain the copyright to their work while allowing the Journal to publish it.
Archiving: The Journal ensures permanent availability and preservation of scholarly findings through the Internet Archive.
Ethical Statement
Edumania ensures the publication of high-quality original research that has public trust and impact. The publisher remains constrained by requirements such as copyright, infringement, and plagiarism, following the norms prescribed by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) to support publication ethics. The publisher shall be responsible for keeping all correspondence secret and under no circumstances shall disclose anything that goes against the interests of authors, referees, and editors of the journal. Stakeholders, including the authors, reviewers, and editors in the publication and review process, are supposed to carefully follow the publication ethics and discourage publication malpractices of any kind.
Authors should refrain from misrepresenting research results, which could damage the trust in the journal, the professionalism, and ultimately the entire research community & endeavour. The manuscript should not be submitted to more than one publication for simultaneous consideration. The submitted work should be original and should not have been published elsewhere in any form or language (partially or in full), unless the new work concerns an expansion of previous work. (Please provide transparency on the re-use of material to avoid the concerns about text-recycling (‘self-plagiarism’). A single study should not be split up into several parts to increase the quantity of submissions and submitted to various publications or to one publication over time (i.e. ‘salami-slicing/publishing’). Concurrent or secondary publication is sometimes justifiable, provided certain conditions are met. Results should be presented clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation (including image-based manipulation). Authors should adhere to discipline-specific rules for acquiring, selecting, and processing data. No data, text, or theories by others are presented as if they were the author’s own (‘plagiarism’). Proper acknowledgements to other works must be given (this includes material that is closely copied (near verbatim), summarized, and/or paraphrased), quotation marks (to indicate words taken from another source) are used for verbatim copying of material, and permissions secured for material that is copyrighted.
If there is suspicion of misbehaviour or alleged fraud, the Journal and/or Publisher will carry out an investigation following COPE guidelines. If, after investigation, valid concerns are identified, the author(s) concerned will be contacted at their provided email address and allowed to address the issue in accordance with the Corrections and Retractions Policy.
Consent
Informed consent is the process of telling potential research participants about the key elements of a research study and what their participation will involve. The informed consent process is one of the central components of the ethical conduct of research with human subjects. The consent process typically includes providing the required information (i.e., elements of informed consent) and the presentation of that information to prospective participants. Authors will be responsible for the personal information of the subject included in the article. Please read the Informed Consent Guidelines.
Human and Animal Rights
If the work involves the use of human subjects, the author should ensure that the work described has been carried out in accordance with The Code of Ethics of the World Medical Association for experiments involving humans. Authors should include a statement in the manuscript that informed consent was obtained for experimentation with human subjects. The privacy rights of human subjects must always be observed.
Compliance Statement
Edumania-An International Multidisciplinary Journal is fully committed to these ethical standards and expects all involved parties—authors, reviewers, and editors—to comply with them. We review these standards regularly to ensure alignment with COPE principles and the requirements of major indexing services.
