On UN International Women’s Day 2024 (March 08), the Sophia SDG Lab at ICERT, in collaboration with Emmanuel Alayande University of Education (EAUED), Oyo, Nigeria, convened an International Seminar under the global theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress” —transforming a day of global observance into a strategic platform for gender-inclusive sustainable development.
Lab Methodology: From Celebration to Action
The seminar operationalized the Sophia SDG Lab’s core approach—moving beyond symbolic celebration to actionable strategies for women’s empowerment. With over 450 participants from 40+ countries, the event became a living laboratory for generating grassroots insights on how investing in women accelerates progress across all dimensions of sustainable development.
