The Sophia SDG Lab serves as ICERT’s dedicated research and action hub for translating global goals into local impact. On August 12, 2025, the Lab convened a landmark International Seminar marking UN/UNESCO International Youth Day, bringing together 866 delegates from 23 countries to explore how young people translate global development goals into tangible, community-driven realities.

Sophia SDG Lab: Research-to-Action Framework
The seminar operationalized the Sophia SDG Lab’s core methodology:
- Identify – Mapping local youth actions and community-driven SDG initiatives across 23 countries
- Analyze – Examining the intersection of macro-level policy and micro-level implementation through expert keynotes
- Engage – Facilitating open house dialogue for grassroots feedback and cross-cultural exchange
- Recommend – Formulating evidence-based policy recommendations for stakeholders
- Recognize – Honoring youth changemakers whose work embodies SDG-aligned action

With over 65% of SDG targets directly linked to local governance, youth engagement is not a mere option but a fundamental necessity for achieving the 2030 Agenda.
