Empowering Educators: Strengthening Resilience, Building Sustainability

On October 05, 2024, the International Council for Education Research and Training (ICERT), in collaboration with Emmanuel Alayande University of Education (EAUED), Oyo, Nigeria, organized a high-level international seminar to commemorate UNESCO World Teachers’ Day. The seminar centered on the theme: “Empowering Educators: Strengthening Resilience, Building Sustainability”.
The event garnered a global response with 648 registered participants representing diverse regions, including India, the USA, UK, Nigeria, Philippines, Malaysia, Kosovo, UAE, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Europe, and Pakistan.

• Chief Guest: Prof. Olanrewaju A. Olaniyan, Vice Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education (EAUED), Oyo, Nigeria.
• Chief Patron: Dr. Chacko Jose P, ICERT Fellow and Principal, St. Aloysius College, Elthuruth, Thrissur, Kerala.
• Guest of Honor & Keynote Speaker: Professor Ayotola Aremu, Pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Vocational, Innovation and Engineering Education, EAUED.
• Keynote Speaker: Dr. Sreeramulu Gosikonda, Assistant Professor of Sociology, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Hyderabad, India.

Technical Sessions: Academic Discourse
The seminar featured two specialized technical tracks focused on empowering the teaching fraternity:
• Technical Session 1: Chaired by Dr. Abubakar Ibrahim Muhammad (Principal Lecturer, Federal College of Education, Nigeria) and coordinated by Dr. Preeti (Assistant Professor, Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth, India).
• Technical Session 2: Chaired by Dr. Pushpanjali Singh (Associate Professor, School of Management Sciences, Lucknow) and coordinated by Dr. Chetna Gupta (Associate Professor, Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu).
Key Highlights and Awards
• Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Global Educator Award 2024: A major highlight was the declaration of this prestigious award, conferred upon 12 distinguished educators for their excellence and contributions to the global education community.

• Plenary Discussions: The program included two plenary sessions where participants engaged in Q&A regarding teacher resilience and professional sustainability.
• Global Time-Zone Integration: The hybrid event was strategically timed to accommodate participants from multiple continents, ranging from the Americas to Southeast Asia.
