ICERT x Lead City University in Action: International Seminar May 21, 2024

"Diversity & Inclusion: Driving force to Innovation for Sustainable Development"

On May 21, 2024, the International Council for Education, Research and Training (ICERT) and the Postgraduate College of Lead City University, Ibadan, Nigeria, jointly organized a high-impact international seminar. The event was held to commemorate the UN and UNESCO World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, focusing on the theme: “Diversity & Inclusion: Driving force to Innovation for Sustainable Development”.

The Outcome: 

  • 1790 Global Minds: Participants from Nigeria, India, Egypt, UAE, Philippines, Malaysia, UK, USA, Australia, Ethiopia, Kosovo, Cambodia, Romania, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Vietnam, Sudan, Botswana, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Eswatini, China, Rwanda, Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Bangladesh united for a global dialogue on diversity. 
  • Diversity & Inclusion: Expert sessions focused on driving innovation for sustainable development and leveraging research technologies for social progress. 
  • 8 Excellence Awards: The prestigious Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Excellence Award 2024 was conferred upon eight outstanding changemakers for their contributions to social justice and academic excellence. 
  • Global Leadership: Insights from distinguished keynote speakers including Professor Kabiru Aderemi Adeyemo (Vice Chancellor, Lead City University), Dr. Shobhna Jeet (India), and Ms. Sarbani Bhowmik (India). 

The mission was clear: foster a culture of inclusion and innovation in alignment with UN sustainability goals—and we delivered.
